I'm looking for stories where members of SG-1, the whole team, or even Jack's clone, are sent to training to get new skills or are the ones providing the training.  I'm open to reading any type of fic, gen, het, etc.

Thanks for any help you can offer in finding a great story for me to read!

This probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, but SGCBearcub's 'Monkey Screaming' series sort of deals with that. It's a really long series dealing with Jack's clone (and the clones of the rest of his team) dealing with their circumstances. Near the middle-end, (I'm almost positive this fic is the one I'm thinking about) they set up a training camp of sorts for future SGC members. It isn't a huge part of the story though.

A while back I read a fic where Jack sends Sam and Daniel into the woods so she could teach him some survival skills, and they run into some mishaps and bad guys-I'll take a look around and see if I can find it:)

You might like "Training Exercises" by [livejournal.com profile] redbyrd_sgfic. It's actually a sequel to "Performance Reviews", also by Redbyrd, wherein Jack (as general) reviews the performance of those involved in "Prometheus Unbound." In "Training Exercises," Daniel and Reynolds and the rest of SG3 provide the training to new recruits to the SGC. Daniel plays a crucial role.

I'll second Aelf's rec of Redbyrd's two fics! And also add Proven (http://www.mindspring.com/%7Eredbyrd/proven.htm), an ep tag to Proving Ground. What was Hailey's final test like - the one she references, but we didn't get to see?

For more Proving Ground tags, there's also Wonderland's Whose Turn Is It to Be Rescued This Time?, parts one (http://sg-wonderland.livejournal.com/60036.html) and two (http://sg-wonderland.livejournal.com/62193.html). Gen, PG.

For clone!Jack, Rocza has a long fic on Helio called Second To None (viewstory.php?sid=4015) in which "Jon" goes to USAF basic military training. I gradually lost interest in the fic since it moves so decisively away from the world of Stargate into the world of standard military fiction, but it was solidly written and very entertaining. Sounds like it's just what you're looking for. I'm not sure it was completed, but at over 100,000 words it should at least get you started. :)

In Random's Training Day (http://www.alldanielfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=777), Makepeace is assigned to give off-world training to the SGC civilians, including Daniel. Sam and Teal'c and Jack are there too, and guess who ends up getting really trained? Superb teamy goodness fic. Gen, PG-13.

Passing Thus Along (http://sage-theory.livejournal.com/122935.html) is a gorgeous character study of Sam and Jack and Daniel (sadly, no Teal'c) and of how well they know one another, within the context of a training scenario (find your teammates on the Alpha Site before the Marines do). Gen, PG.

Sid's Don't Panic (http://sid.dreamwidth.org/33812.html) is a fun little Jack and Daniel ficlet in which Jack informs Daniel that he needs weapon training. Gen, rated G.

Chrisbod's The Skirmish (<a) is a fun Sam and Jack friendship piece. Gen, G.

Synecdochic's hilarious The Only Winning Move (http://synecdochic.dreamwidth.org/270248.html) is a fantastic training scenario in the SGC that is not to be missed. Gen, PG-13.

And finally, if you don't mind some shameless self-promotion :) I wrote Out of Step (http://sg-fignewton.livejournal.com/141377.html), a sort of cracky prequel to Proving Ground that explains just why Daniel rated the comfy general's chair. Gen, G.

There are some really good recs here, the only one I could think of was indie's 'Mind the Gap'. It's a short het fic with a very poignant description of Jack's new role training the new recruits.
