Fic search: Jack/Daniel

To my horror and despair, I can see Pepe is removing her fic. I've got most of it saved, but I'm missing the last three fics: Used Goods; Like Early Morning Mist and Don't Say Goodnight.

The really depressing thing is I haven't even had time to read them, which I'd love to, so... can anybody help me find them?

This may be the time to remind everyone that if a writer's work disappears from the web, and *if* you have the URL of their old site, you can always access cached versions of that site at the Wayback Machine:

http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

(So, for example, you could put in "pepesplace.co.uk", or the URL for the Area52 author's page (if that goes down), and get archived versions of the stories. That may help to retrieve some that disappear.)

I emailed her yesterday regarding the fact that some of her fics where on the thematic lists and does she mind if people email each other fics in the future but the email bounced. I was under the impression that we'd be able to contact her for a few days after she made her announcement but no such luck.

If the Wayback Machine doesn't work, email me. I'm pretty sure I've got most of her stuff copied.

Um, I hope you don't mind me leaping in on this thread.

I actually hadn't realised the pepe's place contact wasn't working. That's my fault. The site had a blip a while back and I must have forgotten to set this one back up properly.

I hadn't realised there would be a single wave with me withdrawing my fics. I certainly didn't mean to start a scramble or to panic anyone. I am simply trying to re-centre myself after five years of endless bashing and mocking and nastiness. Sometimes it gets to the point where stepping away and taking a deep breath is the only way to do it. I can assure you I still feel the Jack/Daniel love!!!! I just don't want to love them in public for a while.

If you prefer not to join my yahoo group (which can be found by scrolling down on the front page of my site - www.pepesplace.co.uk), temporarily or otherwise, then please send me a mail at alisontitch@blueyonder.co.uk I will do my best to get files out to those of you who want them, but please bear with me as I have been kind of deluged. I need to sort out getting stuff to the yahoo group first.

I really didn't expect to receive the outpouring that I have, and I am utterly humbled and stunned. I thought it would be easy to slip away and no one would care. Please do write or join the group if you need anything that you can't find, and please accept my apologies. I'm not trying to make this any harder than it already is.

Just wanted to say that I echo perfica's sentiments expressed below and am joining your yahoo group.

It hadn't even occurred to me that you'd have invariably gotten rude letters from people over the years. I'm saddened that they seem to have outnumbered the positive ones!

I respect your decision and just wanted to let you know that a lot of us do care. :-)
