Retired Fen

The following is a list of fen (authors, artists, vidders, etc) who have
a) retired from fandom
b) removed their work from the internet
c) made a statement regarding their work being shared by fans
d) any or all of the above

fantastic list-idea!
How far back are you thinking?
For SGA, [livejournal.com profile] gaiaanarchy left fandom in Sept 2007, but lj remains accessible, ditto for stories (though the URL has been updated since, to http://www.fictionresource.com/gaia/ )
[livejournal.com profile] sardonicsmiley left the fandom, but stories remain accessible at http://smiley.zonezine.net
all but one of Karen McFadyyon's SGA stories are now back online at Wraithbait: http://www.wraithbait.com/viewuser.php?uid=3125
[livejournal.com profile] jane_elliot is going pro and removed one of her stories, Push/Pull, from the web, but doesn't mind if people email it between themselves: http://jane-elliot.livejournal.com/84180.html

P.S. - people who've been in the SGA fandom longer likely know more; maybe consider also posting a note about this at [livejournal.com profile] sga_noticeboard?

Anais ([livejournal.com profile] notmonkey) retired from fandom and took her work down. As far as I know, she has no objection to people sharing files. Many fics are available via Internet Archive (http://web.archive.org/web/20060518234421/http://www.versaphile.com/anais/index2.asp).

Thanks for doing this! And looks like [livejournal.com profile] franticsga should go in the same category as Pepe: http://franticsga.livejournal.com/92206.html

Yay! (I've added a link to this handy post in my (Newer) SGA fic readers guide (http://skaredykat.livejournal.com/1083.html#cutid8), so people who stumble across that will know to check here before requesting certain stories here or at sgastoryfinders.)

another SGA writer: [livejournal.com profile] rivier's fic is locked away, but the author doesn't mind if fans share it, see http://rivier.livejournal.com/profile

koschka has removed her solo stuff from the net (can still get the Geeks and Goons stories by her and liketheriver). Not found any info about why or whether fans can share though.

as a little sidenote to this - are there any lists or anything out there where people who are willing to share/send out stories etc. can sign up?

you can still find atleast some of [livejournal.com profile] eliade's stories on her lj - dunno if she's got all of them posted there though.

This link franticsga - statement provided here

OK,

I'm really beginning to hate that goat! He seems to be showing up a lot lately. LOL

Ha, glad I'm not the only one!

Update...the link to the explanation for franticsga's exit and such now goes to an Access Denied page. i found that one of my links to a franticsga story went to the same place. i googled the lj user name and found this post.

Does that mean that franticsga's work is back up and leads to a master list or is that for another author?

Is there a URL for it?
