Hi, first time posting. I've been trying to find a fic (possibly part of a series?) that I read years ago. I can't remember many details of the fic over all. I know Daniel had a burn on his back, I think from having a pain stick held against his back for a long time, that was in the shape of an iron. The team went one holiday together to give him a chance to recover. The scene I remember really well is that they visit a museum. Daniel starts chattering about the artifacts, correcting the displays and one of the musuem tour guides starts following along making notes. She then dashes off to get the curator, who happens to be an old friend of Daniel's.

The Curator apparently knew Daniel back before the film and says everyone thought Daniel killed himself after giving the lecture because he just disappeared from the community. Then he hugs him/pats his back and breaks the burn open, making his back bleed.

The rest of the team panics, one of them calls Janet in a flap and she says something like 'I have no faith in the teams abillity to help right now'. Daniel insists he's fine, they go back to the hotel and he takes a nap while the others play cards.

Probably Jack/Daniel.

Additional details: may be part of a series, Steven Raynor may show up but I may be mixing two fics together.

I have looked everywhere I can think of for this story and have had no luck. If you wonderful people can help me I will be eternally grateful.
