Hope this post is okay, if not please let me know and I'll remove, I did check the rules but I'm still not clear whether this is allowable.
I figured my request might fall under your list rule #5: "Thematic searches are fine; e.g. if you wanted to get recommendations for hurt/comfort McKay/Sheppard fics."
I just finished reading an absolutely wonderful novel length fic called East of the Sun, West of the Moon by dossier (it's het with non-canon characters, but really, really well written).
It was fantastic and I hadn't seen any reference or recs to it anywhere and I can't even remember how I ran across it myself.
It makes me think that sometimes there's fic out there that I would like to read but just haven't run across yet so I was wondering if anyone knew of any great novel-length fics in the Stargate fandom (SG1 or SGA) any genre or pairing is fine, I'm just looking for the long ones.
Much obliged!
UPDATE: Got a lot of recs and I just wanted to say Thanks! to everyone who helped out!! Lots of reading to look forward to - YAY!

Date: 4 November 2007 09:46 pm (UTC)I can only think of one really long Stargate fic, and I absolutely love it. It's a complete AU though - set in a medieval-type world, with Elizabeth as a queen... so I don't know if it's what you're looking for, if you're wanting something that's a little more Stargate-y, lol.
In any case, it's het (a variety of pairings from both fandoms including John/Elizabeth, Kate/Lorne, Laura/Carson and more), and it's a very long and constantly updated AU.

Tielan's To Serve a Queen is a great long AU.
I love Auburn's In the City of Seven Walls, Three Fates too.
Eurydice Turns Left by Vehemently is only novella length but a great story.

Date: 5 November 2007 08:37 pm (UTC)1)'One O'Neill'( http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/one-oneill/ ) has a database / archive with Jack centered fics. There are quite a few novel length fics in the archives which are really quite good. If you go there and make a request for a list of long fics, you'll get a good response. It's a fic writers / readers group and there are new fics being constantly posted and updated. Take a look.
2)Stargate: Parallel Universe ( http://stargate-inside.livejournal.com/profile ) is a novel length Jack O'Neill based fic. This is also a shameless plug; I am the one who wrote it. It's housed in it's on LJ and on a number of archived sites and I've gotten pretty good feedback on it. Take a look and let me know if you like it.
Thanks for all the recs!! Wow...
