Fic Search: Sam/Jack

I'm looking for a specific fic. I have no idea where I read it (I suspect it's on ff.net, and probably elsewhere).

It was written at some point in the Pete storyline (S7/S8), and it goes of on a tangent from the show's storyline.

Jack has left the SGC (and I think there was some animosity involved) and is living at his cabin, with a dog called Sam. *g* Carter comes to visit and we find out that she's broken things off with Pete. Sam and Jack talk and Sam stay at the cabin that night, and then doesn't quite get around to leaving... At some point, Jacob appears, with Mark and Pete in tow. Pete had his own very skewed version of what happened to his and Sam's relationship and as a result Jacob and Mark have arrived to make Sam see sense, ie go back to Pete.

One thing that makes this fic 'stand out' is the fact that when Jacob, Mark and Pete appear, it's very late at night, Sam the dog is giving birth to the pups (in the middle of winter, in the very cold barn) and Sam and and Jack are taking turns at watching/helping Sam the dog and pups.

I'm looking for fics from either show where matriarchy is involved.

It could be a trip to a matriarchal planet, or an AU, or whatever.

The only ones I've read are Liberating Males (on ff.net), and the latest chapter of the incredibly long Unification. Well, I think I may have read a short kinky fic as well, but that's all.

If anyone knows of any more, I'd be very grateful :) I'll also take any other fics where women are in charge, e.g. if there are any D/s or slavefics with female dominants.

Searching for Character Study fic

I'm not one to request fic. I usually am one to help others locate fic, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any good character study fic. I'd like to find some intense character study fic for Daniel mainly but I'm open to hearing suggestions of such fic for anyone on SG-1 (including Vala and Cameron). So can anyone help me out?
