Fic search: McKay

I tried looking for this on sgastoryfinders, but no joy, so I thought I'd try here.

I read this quite a while ago, possibly on fanfiction.net, and I would appreciate any and all help.

McKay was on the mainland testing out some new found technology, I think with Major Lorne. McKay disappears, and after a search of the area, is found injured at the bottom of a tree. I think his arm is dislocated.
There are a couple of theories as to what happened, including McKay having been attacked by a giant bird (enforced by something of McKay's being found in a bird's nest). Another theory was that the technology he had been playing with was a transporter.

It's not Infans Cursus Semper Fidelias (by liketheriver), although I think it is of a similar style.
