Fic Search: Daniel or Jack/Daniel

I'm looking for a fanfic for my friend. I'm new to LJ and know almost nothing about Stargate myself so I apologize for any mistakes I might make.

I was told the fic was something along the lines of:
Daniel is stuck somewhere (cliff edge, temple, hole?) and he's translating something that ends up messing with his head somehow. This gets worse over time and there's something about him seeing colours attached to words and the only way to fix it was to go back to the place he'd been stuck.

I'm unsure about how much the tags apply

Fic Search: Daniel fanfic

I'm trying to remember a fic that I read years ago. It has Daniel assigned to another SG team temporarily by Hammond so that he can help Hammond secretly investigate the way the team works. I think Daniel pretended to get amnesia at some point when they were off world and pretended he didn't know how to dial home. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
