::sigh:: Here I am again, a victim of my own incompetence...

Someone very recently recced a slash genderbender, which I started to read, was enjoying, got interrupted, and neglected to bookmark for later. The thing that sticks in my memory is Daniel clutching at his/her trousers which are suddenly too big for him/her. Oh, and I think it might have been a J/D first time.

Not a whole helluva lot to go on, but I have faith in you guys :-D

Maybe "The Drunkenness of Some Other Tavern" by Jeylan?

That is funny you say that because I just discovered that there was this whole part of SG-1 fandom on LJ, which is how I ended up getting a journal.

It gets complicated when you have an old fandom that's been really active online before Livejournal became the one-shot capital of the world for fanfic.

I think I have seen about 2% of what is out there. But I'm glad there are people writing on livejournal because it seems like a lot of the big old skool Jack/Daniel and other writers are pulling their stuff down faster than I can get to it all. I keep following recs to nonexistent stories. I guess I found SG1 to. late and Atlantis just hasn't clicked for me:(

sorry, just saw this! Thank you for pointing out some of these people for me. It helps because I can kind of go to their journal and find links and places off of their things. I think I've heard of the ones you've listed that are gone, which is too bad. I know some feel the need to pull their stories off the internet if they are out of fandom or for life reasons. Sometimes very good stories are part of that pull down though.

I am glad some new blood has moved in. I hope I can eventually be part of it, though most likely, I will only be writing Daniel slash and het pairings. But you never know. Maybe I'll be inspired by a Teal'c story one day!

I might have friended stargateficrec- not sure. I did an interest search on communities when I first set up my LJ and joined a few things just on glance.

And yeah, it's really bigger than I thought, and international. I just was told about heliopolis a while ago which has het pairings from what I understand. Not that that there's too many Daniel het stories out there, but they seem to be increasing. I'm just scratching the surface of area 52 myself, though I am going to follow some story recs as well to avoid the badfic.
