Two stories

1. Daniel is kidnapped by a system lord, Ba'al I think, and imprisoned in total darkness and silence, with no human contact, for a while, the intent being that he will go nuts and then Ba'al will send him back to the SGC. I think it was revenge for Jack's escape in "Abyss." It was gen or J/D slash. FTR, it's not "Creation Myth" by Corby, even though some of the elements are the same.

2. J/D slash, with MacGyver appearance. Jack starts acting an ass, and really alienating Daniel, until finally Mac calls him on it, while they happen to be offworld and having dinner with some of the people they'd met. I remember the weirdest, most useless details.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me--these have been driving me crazy!

Hmm I did a search on Baal and couldn't find any stories. Hopefully someone comes up with one. There is another story I read several years ago where Osiris captures Daniel and places him in total darkness and silence wanting to drive him nuts to "show" him how Sarah felt. It was a bit of a creepy story and in the end I believe he's rescued by Aris Boch. Is this anything like the one you're seeking?

I read the first fic just recently, so I know it was slash. :) I think that there was a few inches of water in Daniel's cell at all times, too. Still, I searched my lists and all the places I usually read, and couldn't find the fic. Sorry. :(

I know I've read the first one, but I can't remember anything except I think Jack got Makepeace out of prison for this one. Did this villain keep Daniel to translate some artifacts? I can't remember....
