I have gone nuts trying to find this one again, so I hope someone else remembers it. SG-1 visits a planet where they are transported from the Gate by an automatic system. The guy controlling the gate has them chained to a wall, and picks Daniel as the most likely target for his "fun." Daniel fights back the only way he can -- he pretends nonchalance and mouths off to frustrate the guy's game and buy time for rescue. Later, in the infirmary, Janet tells him, "Need me to draw you a map? -- that's a good one. I used that one on my ex-husband."

Okay, this has been driving me absolutely insane. Can anyone tell me in which story a captured and ill-treated Daniel keeps calling his captors 'Dead Guy' and 'Other Dead Guy' because he knows when Jack gets his hands on them he's going to kill them.

I know this isn't much to go on but I'd love to read this story again. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hello all!

I am looking for some specific fics:

The first is a J/D slash piece but not in the way you would think: it's AU from Double Jeopardy and it has Robot Jack who shared a life with robot Daniel -- all I remember is it was beautifully written and so sad -- there was a conversation between robot Jack and Robot Daniel in a large open field, and I'm pretty sure it ends with Robot Jack powering down on Earth in his back yard. Ah yes, and I think also the real O'Neill had been killed. Ring bells? I know someone out there knows the story I am talking about!

Still looking for the next two:

Second one is a long, gen fic, older -- probably five or six years old, I think -- and it involved the team travelling to a far-off city of supposedly advanced beings who had shed their bodies and didn't know how to make good food anymore: I remember they had to go through a few gates to get there (I think), and there were amazingly strange worlds in between -- dragons and rainbows or something? That may sound crazy, and I may be way off the mark, but then again someone here might go "Aha! I know exactly what she's talking about!" I may also be confusing two stories here. *looks back at post* That is probably quite unhelpful.

Third story is another Gen story where the team goes to a planet where part of the culture of entertainment is to "experience" others' memories (perhaps of prisoners?), and O'Neill somehow gets captured and the memories they choose to re-live are the ones dealing with Charlie's death. I think the memory-sucking people were part of a city community, and the outlying society was very different.

Any hits?
