The team returns from a mission and Daniel can now see people's "true natures" at a glance. There's a scene where he's in the grocery store and sees the butcher he's known for a while now, only now he can see (just by looking at him) that he sexually abused all four of his daughters when they were children. Daniel freaks out (all the input from everyone around him was hard enough, but seeing this "monster" was too much) and ends up running out of the store and down the street. He's picked up by the cops (who think he must be on something). One of the cops is sympathetic and one isn't. The sympathetic one ends up doing his paperwork outside the cell Daniel's in while they wait for his blood tests to come back. Eventually, the cop calls Jack to come get Daniel and takes him to a conference room to wait (the cop's sister used to have panic attacks and that's what he's seeing from Daniel).
I can't remember if the whammy was from alien tech or a "gift" from some species or other or how he either gets rid of it or learns to live with it.
Ring any bells?
