Fiction Search: Jack/Daniel

Hi. I'm looking for a fic, and can only remember bits and pieces.

I remember that they were off world, Jack was taken prisoner (I think). Daniel mounts a rescue but the city is attacked by an opposing country. They are taken on a boat to the othe country, where, I think, Jack is assumed to be a possession. The man who takes them in keeps trying to show Jack that he doesn't have to be a possession/slave. It seems to me the country had a Samurai feel to it...


Gosh. If I can think of anything else, I'll edit.

Mucho appreciation to anyone with any inkling as to what I'm talking about.

The sequel is a bit angsty, but dith said a few months ago that there was a possibility of another sequel to come, so yay!

well, it's a sequel, but it's Jack/Shigeru (did I get that right?), and it's post Meridian--so I imagine that it probably wasn't as widely read/recced, etc. as the Two Sides of the Coin. My opinion as to the necessity of Daniel's ascension, dramatically speaking, isn't particularly popular and I know there were a LOT of J/D fans in total denial (i.e. Virtual Season 6).

But, after all is said and done, I thought it was a well thought out story, and really interesting.
