Looking for 2 stories

 Hi!

I'm looking for 2 stories, similar in theme. One is a story in which Sara's father dies (Jack's ex). She sees Daniel and figures out that Jack is having a relationship with him. Jack tells her he'd give it all up for Daniel if he had to.

The 2nd story deals with the sickness and death of Jack's mother. He and Daniel go to Chicago to say goodbye and Jack tries to repair his relationship w/his father. Jack's dad is upset over what he perceives to be a relationship and Daniel spends a lot of time in the library and also confronts the father. 

One of the stories (I think) has Sara coming to Jack's house, seeing Daniel and Jack kissing and that's how she figures out Jack is in a gay relationship. She's upset, but as there's no chance of a child, the possibility of which flips her out a bit, she is able to sit and talk with Daniel.

The first one could be part of Wordgeek's The Mind Doesn't Decide series; I can't recall if Sara's dad dies in that, or not. You can find that fic, and every other J/D fic I know of where Sara appears, in my J/D Family Theme List (http://starglyph.dreamwidth.org/53365.html). Hope that helps. :)

Still not the story, but again from my scan (which I'm really GOOD at), Wordgeek's story looks great! As does the Family Theme List, which I've bookmarked. Thanks so much. I can't wait to delve into the stories you have there.

Wordgeek's fic is great, it's a very popular favorite. If you could supply more details on the one you're looking for, that might help narrow it down some. Are you sure Sara's dad dies in the fic? Could it have been an AU? Was it related to an episode? Even the smallest details sometimes help; it's amazing what little tidbits will strike a chord in people. :)

Not my request, but I think I know the one she's talking about (but not KNOW it, if you get my meaning) and maybe this will help...

I can remember one where Daniel and Jack are at home, and Sara shows up because her dad is in the hospital (heart attack, iirc). Jack takes time off of work to stay with her through it, they finally lose him, and there's a funeral that the team appears (Teal'c asks about a wake and tells Daniel about Fire & Water). I seem to recall Sara thinking her and Jack might reconcile before she finds out about Daniel.

Hopefully I'm remembering the right one, and this helps. :)

Yes, that is the one. Sara shows up and "catches" Jack and Daniel or at least sees Daniel. After her dad dies, she has a talk w/Jack. They discuss or at least she does making a new start. By this point Jack knows he loves Daniel and gently tells her no. She asks about work and he tells her nothing has changed until she asks about Daniel at which point Jack lets her know he would give his job up for him. Sara gets upset and wants to know if there were any other men during their marriage.
