Thematic search: What-if?

I was wondering if there are any thematic lists or just fics that you guys can recommend about, er, "What if's" to an episode. For example, for Meridian, what if Jack had asked Daniel to stay or Daniel decided not to Ascend. It can pertain to J/D or not.

I've also been looking for a J/D fic: Daniel is captured and he is being taken to the 'gate. This takes place at night from what I remember... Jack and a SG team or waiting for the right time to rescue him. Meanwhile, Daniel believes that Jack would save him. When he is finally rescued, Daniel said somethin like, "You came for me."

Does it ring any bells for anyone?
