Searching for a Jack and Daniel Story

Jack and Daniel end up at either a conference or Daniel's class reunion. I remember that Daniel is around a bunch of people that made fun of his theories and did not respect him.
Jack is in dress blues. Every time that someone questioned Daniel about what he had been doing Jack would intervene and say that is classified. People realized that whatever Daniel was doing must be important if he was being escorted by a colonel.
