I'm searching for AU fics along the lines of
langford_u or
wildwest_lantis . Anything that takes our beloved characters and throws them into a completely different world. I've come across quite a few communities, but am I'm sure I'm missing a lot of one-shots/ individual fics. (I know there are a few Robin Hood style/Jane Austen style fics etc.)
Open to SG-1 and SGA, though I'd prefer Sam and Jack in the mix.
Please and Thank you x

Date: 3 March 2011 09:47 pm (UTC)The Fireman verse is always a good one, though a lot of really good fics in the Fireman community haven't been posted to the community's site-so it's worth checking around:

There is a community dedicated to Jack's clone, as well as an invented mini Sam (and often the rest of their team) in High School:
http://community.livejournal.com/miniotp/
And my absolute favorite; "The House That Jack Built" where Jack is a grumpy landlord, and his apartment building is filled with sgc/sga characters-including geek Sam (based on the episode Moebius). Again though, there a lot of great landlord fics that have not been posted in the community and are worth looking around for:

Date: 3 March 2011 09:57 pm (UTC)For one with Sam and Jack, on that list there's handy links to the AU where John's a photographer and Rodney a food stylist, both Sam and Jack do show up in the first installment (though it's Jack/Daniel), scroll down to "Photographer/Food artist = Clean Plate Club 'verse by yin-again" to find it.

And it's sequel "Motley Crew":

ALC Punk's "Caper" is set in the 40's and is a parody of the old film Noir detective stories (that I only know of thanks to the parodies of Bill Nye the Science guy;). It features O'Neill as the hard boiled detective, Sam as the alluring client with a mysterious past and various other SGC characters:

Thank you so much for all these!
Re: A few more
Date: 4 March 2011 11:58 am (UTC)The Interlude 2005 series isn't that kind of AU series, with the exception of two chapters (sort of), but it is still pretty enjoyable. It's a lengthy read and the "Interlude's" are rotated through different authors (and diff. sites)...so expect different styles/paces: I especially loved Ruth M. King's contributions (mostly because she included a Moebius story with the awesomeness that is geeksam;) But yea..they shouldn't be read as standalones.
Interludes 1,2,5,6,9,&10:

Interludes 3 & 4:

Interludes 7 & 8:

http://web.archive.org/web/20061118084222/www.snowqueen.demon.co.uk/Interlude/giveup.html
So yea, they're a bit out order as I posted them by site, just follow them numerically:) These chapters are probably all linked to a single site...somewhere out there. I'm so glad you requested AU fics, I've revisited so many good ones today. Hopefully more people will share their au fics! Thanks!

It's add-on/epilogue "I'll be Your Harvester of Light":
http://a-loquita.livejournal.com/107067.html
And "Night Path" is an additional scene to Cast Your Fate to the Wind:

Vicky Ocean also has a short wild west series with sam/jack in which the Goa'uld invade Earth in the late 1800's, beginning with her fic "Threadbare":
http://vickyocean.livejournal.com/49729.html#cutid1
And it's prequel (though it was written afterwards) "Marshal O'Neill & Doc Carter and The Invaders From Another World":
http://vickyocean.livejournal.com/79672.html#cutid1
Majorsamfan wrote a remix of Threadbare from Jack's pov called "The Captain and the Colonel's Daughter":

"Don't Give Up" by Ruth M. King is actually part of the Interlude 2005 Series and doesn't really count as an AU. But there is a large portion of this section of the story that *feels* like an AU, heavy on the sam/jack. Though I strongly recommend you read the previous parts of the Interlude series to fully understand it. If you want to read the whole series, let me know, different parts are on different sites:

Matt1969 wrote a very short AU where Jack and Sam were never a part of the SGC, this probably isn't what you're looking for, but it's still pretty interesting:
