We have all read those stories where SG-1 (or part of them) gets stuck somewhere and has to work miracles in order to get back to Earth. Well, what if they didn't? What if there wasn't an easy (or not so easy) way out? To put it shortly: I want fics where SG-1 has to build new lives away from their Earth and I don't want them going back at any point of the fic (the only exception is the Earths of other universes). A huge plus is if it's set in drastically different world where they aren't technologically superior to the natives. Crossovers, quantum mirrors, Stargate-mishaps, spaceship crashes - anything goes.

R, Sam/Jack/Daniel.
Takes place in Katie's In the Wrong Story universe, but is not a canonical part of that universe. Also, Daniel beat Jack at chess in Legacy, but for the purposes of this story I'm assuming Jack was just having an off day, what with Daniel going crackers and all.

More Than We Are
STARGATE SG-1
Pairing: Jack/Sam/Daniel
Author on LJ: surrealphantast
Author Website: mind-rot
Why this must be read:
In honour of the crappy October wind that's been howling past my window for days, I am declaring it OT3 week. Because there is nothing like cuddling with Jack and Sam to keep Daniel warm at night. Or in the morning. Or during their lunch break. Whatever.
This is a story set in the season 8 ender timetraveling alternate reality Moebius, where the stargate program never existed. Or as Jenn likes to call it, the dorkverse. It's the team, only not the team, only still the team, fitting perfectly. And, like the show itself, this story just kinda makes me irrationally happy.

Pairing: Jack/Sam
(possibly the only Jack/Sam stories I have ever saved.)

When the sun sets in this place, you could almost believe that the world is flat.
Cutting into the white of the ice, the patches of pine forests are nearly black in the sleepy landscape. The sky is hanging low above them, the clouds heavy with a promise of snow. Monochromatic against the pale, foggy blue - the beauty of this land is unexpected in its simplicity.
There are lights scattered among the trees, marking the places where people leave the cold outside the door, shed their winter clothes and put the stones onto the heaters. Places where they pour the water and listen to it hiss and burst towards the wooden ceiling. Places where they breathe it, scorching hot, into their lungs.
The Dirt of Sowing and Reaping

Daniel swings his sickle, close to the ground, severing the stalk in one stroke. It sounds a little like breaking bones. With each stroke he hears the brittle snap: wrist, shin. As his arm sweeps back and then down and the blade lops away another stalk, he doesn't wonder how he became a man who knew the right way to twist an assailant's arm so that the knife would fall from nerveless fingers, and how to twist a little further until there was a snap. He knows that once, back in The Day, if he'd voiced that connection between corn and bone he'd have earned a raised eyebrow, a forced smile. That kind of observation would have made a regular person change the subject, recoiling a little as though they'd stepped off a well-worn path into nettles. It would have been an indication that he had lived a strange life.
