Old Fic Jack/Daniel

Can anyone help please this is driving me insane searching ....

At the end of a mission SG-1 (not sure about Sam) are at the DHD when Teal'c starts sniffing the air around Jack, it turns out it is a Jaffa thing, and he can smell the scent of a sexual relationship. He can also smell it on Daniel and concludes that they are together.

Think it is a standalone, but could be it is part of a longer fic and the reason cannot find it.

It is part of a longer fic, one by Biblio. Tangents related I believe. I can't remember the exact fic, but maybe this will help. (Teal'c is also interested and he and Jack have a little bit of a pissing contest. Jack then asks if they're ok, and Teal'c warns him not to hurt Daniel.)

This is the link to Diversion, the Biblio fic to which you are referring. The scene occurs off-world in a Goa'uld pleasure palace, like the one from The Light.

The scene I'm thinking of takes place in the hallways of the SGC, not at the DHD. I don't remember Teal'c sniffing in Diversion, but it's been a few years since I've read it.

There is one more Biblio story where Teal'c sniffs; again the name escapes me, but they are on a planet for trade or something like that, and Daniel is acting as Jack's slave. They have to practice being comfortable before they leave, and both realize that they want each other. It's a first time fic, and long. In this one Teal'c sniffs and approves, saying that Jack let Daniel catch him, or words to that effect.

That's the Diversion scene, I think. Using their names from the episode where they got their minds wiped (Jona, Carlin) Jack is supposed to be some powerful guy at the palace for trading (undercover for the Tok'ra). Daniel is portraying Jack's young stud. The Teal'c sniffing occurs the morning after the night before when Teal'c says: “I see that you have pursued DanielJackson until he caught you, O’Neill.”

Yes, you're right. The one scene where Teal'c approves, and you've just described is from Diversion.

But, I'm clearly remembering another sniffing scene where Teal'c also wants Daniel. In fact, in that one, Jack gets closer to Teal'c to allow him to smell Daniel on him. All I know is that's it's a Biblio fic. My memory for names is poor, but some details just stick out.

Fidelity. the very last chapter. When Daniel and Jack return from the planet where Daniel was assaulted by the SG leader. Jack takes offense he hears Teal'c call Daniel 'Daniel' instead of 'Daniel Jackson'. He beckons him into the hallway and makes sure he stands close enough so that Teal'c can smell Daniel on him.

Yup, that's the one I was thinking about. I hope it's the one Brootang was thinking about. LOL, I'm just shocked that I remembered it was a Biblio fic. I bow before your memory!

LOL! I was thinking we figured out our fics but I'm not sure we helped Brootang at all!

I've got a pretty good memory when it comes to fics I've read. Especially ones I've read over and over, like Biblio's.

I've read Biblio so often as well. I'll remember story lines but names of the stories forever escape me. I don't always remember the names of my own fic

I love Biblio's fic and thank you all for your input but still searching ..... in the fic I am thinking about I seem to remember Teal'c was not sure what the smell was at first, and was unaware that Daniel was involved initially. Teal'c later explains to Jack how Jaffa have an incredible sense of smell and that no one else can smell them. But now I could be having a 'senior moment' lol, and making it up as I go along xx

Sorry, Brootang. I really thought I'd had it. Except for the DHD detail, it seemed right. I can't recall ever reading another story where Teal'c smelling Daniel was involved.

I remember a 'Teal'c sniffing sexual activity at the DHD' story, but I think it was an ep tag to The First Ones after they rescue Daniel from the Unas...?
