Fic Search: Jack lecturing/teaching/training (specific and theme)

I'm searching for both a specific fic and fics with a certain theme.

Theme: I'm looking for fics that have Jack teaching/lecturing/training new recruits (they don't have to be SGC recruits) - it can be training SGC staff/recruits to go off-world, or lecturing/training Air Force recruits for deployment somewhere on Earth, or lecturing at the Academy. Basically situations where we see that Jack isn't as dumb as he usually seems to be.

Specific: I can't remember a whole lot about this fic. Jack has been asked to lecture/talk to Air Force Academy students about his time as a PoW in Iraq. Jack really isn't keen (understatement of the cetury...), but he isn't being given a choice. I think he comes close to losing it in front of the class, but Sam has shown up for moral support (I suspect that Jack tried to keep this lecture quiet, but Hammond may have told Sam) and he gets through it. One of the students may or may not have approached Jack at the end of the lecture. And I think there was some sort of undercurrent/bad history with the General that was at the lecture, and he may well have been the one to request Jack.

There may have been implied Sam/Jack undercurrents in the fic but I don't think it went further than implied, and they weren't actually involved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NB: I read the ship version and it was borderline ship. The ship was hinted at. I don't know how different the gen version is.

Thank you! I read the beginning and I don't think that this is the specific story I was looking for. (It's so, so close tho! I though it was the one right up until the point we discover that Jack's teaching assignment is 12 weeks and not a one off - I'm pretty sure that Jack was a Guest lecturer ie just the one lecture.) However, that's not going to stop me thoroughly enjoying it! So thank you for the rec! :)

I looked again since I remembered your thread. See if I found it this time. 'Fortune Favors the Brave' by DJ Boyd at jackfic.com. There are two versions, one gen and one ship.
